The easiest mushroom logs to use
With the help of this MUSHROOM LOG you can grow excellent mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) in your home garden or at a summer cottage; it is also a wonderful decorative element. Find a shady place (but not dark) in the garden, at the summer cottage or elsewhere and dig a hole 15 cm deep. Level the floor, put the stump inside and cover up with the remaining soil, level the ground. Water earth until wet. Continue to water upon dry weather 2 times a week for several years. Do not let the mushroom log dry. A stump put into the ground in spring will give the first yield in September-October. Stumps that are planted later will give yield in the next year. Productivity is smaller in the first year. It is the greatest in the second and third year. Total yield is 1/3 of the weight of the stump. It crops for 3-5 years and is left into the ground for winter. Productivity may vary, depending on the year, weather conditions and other various aspects, but that’s nature. You can make all kinds of mushroom dishes and this mushroom does not require blanching! In the end you can make compost of the stump.
Oyster mushrooms are excellent blood builders because of their high iron content. They are used in the treatment of numbness and tendonitis.
